What is an Ordinary or General Power-of-Attorney?

These are much less elaborate types of Power of Attorney, compared with Lasting Powers of Attorney or Enduring Powers of Attorney, that can be put in place for perhaps a particular purpose.

They are not particularly common but one might be used, for example, if perhaps someone was leaving the country and wanted to name someone as their attorney to sell a property and sign documentation on their behalf.

They do not last beyond any loss of mental capacity and are therefore generally short-term precisely defined arrangements.
